| Actress Jean Smart welcomed a new baby to the family in 2009 as she and her husband Richard Gilliland adopted a 10-month-old girl named Bonnie from China. The 58-year-old star broke the big news during an appearance yesterday on The Bonnie Hunt Show, revealing that she, her husband and their 19-year-old son Connor traveled to China last year to bring home their daughter Bonnie, who is now 18 months. Despite their 18 year age difference the proud mom says that her son and daughter are "so smitten," but laughingly adds, "We thought they were going to be closer in age when we first started this!" Jean is best known for her work on TV series such as Designing Women, 24 and Samantha Who? SourceChina actually has an age restriction for anyone over 50 that cannot adopt a child younger than 2; however, they let the age range slide when adopting a child with special needs. | |

| EDIT- Ok, found it! Thanks guys. I guess I did not look hard enough, it is in fact called The Green BookHello! I'm looking for a book that I read when I was around 12 years old, around 2000. It's a story about kids living on a space ship traveling for many many years to some habitable planet. It focuses on one young girl, and I believe her sister or something? The main girl has brought with her a green book, which turns out to be a diary later on, and I think the book is presented as the contents of the diary. They arrive at the planet, and there are strange creatures and unbreakable trees, and the people have trouble growing food and stuff. I think it was short; under 200 pages. The green book thing seems like it was very significant. I thought the title might have something to do with it but I can't find anything. Thanks! | |

| Fans of loopy banter and insane violence rejoice — Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, of Zombieland fame, are writing the Deadpool movie. This means the "Merc with a Mouth" film could actually be clever. Variety announced that Fox has selected Zombieland writers Reese and Wernick to bring Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool film to life. While there's "no timetable" set the trade speculates that if the script is done by the summer, Reynolds will already be in superhero shape from filming Green Lantern and has a window of opportunity, so what's to stop a quick turnover? Well besides piling two Ryan Reynolds comic book movie releases on top of each other that is. The writers stated that they wanted to stay true to the mythology of Deadpool, and if their previous Zombieland work is any indication of their wit, then they are a perfect fit for the fourth-wall-breaking, Bea Arthur-loving character. | Looking for something previously posted here about 9-12 months ago (maybe longer). Did the searcharoo, came up with nada. It concerned a John Lennon quote, pretty much along the lines of "Smart women didn't exist till Yoko came along", which seemed kinda mean towards every other female ever in his life! The original poster had seen it at some art galery/exhibition.
Its not important to find the actual post, all I really want is the exact quote from Lennon -any ideas?

| Get ready for another season of Simon and Paula’s signature bickering — on the US adaptation of The X Factor. Paula Abdul has allegedly inked a $4.5 million contract to bring her loopy commentary to the judges panel on an American version of Simon’s hit UK talent show, The X Factor. That’s interesting, considering the star walked away from her post at American Idol because she failed to secure the $10 million-a-year payday she was vying for. Apparently, Paula isn’t very good at gambling, is she? A FOX tipster revealed to The National Enquirer’s Mike Walker: “Simon flew Paula to London and wined and dined her relentlessly over the course of several days, even introducing her to everyone who works on X Factor. But what really clinched the deal was Simon’s pledge that she wouldn’t have to deal with all the nonsense and infighting that she hated on Idol.” The X Factor America will premiere in 2011. | On a whim, I invite two of my friends who have never met - a short blonde girl and a tall logical boy - to swim at the pool behind my apartment complex.
She puts her hand down my swimsuit and giggles, telling me how cute he is; unaware of the future, I laugh.

| Thursday, music artist/philanthropist Kenna lead a group that includes actors Jessica Biel, Emile Hirsch and Isabel Lucas and musicians Lupe Fiasco and Santigold on the trip of a lifetime to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. The ascent of the highest peak in Africa is not a casual vacation among bold-named friends, though, but part of an awareness raising trek called the "Summit on the Summit" aimed at shining a light on the global clean-water crisis. The group will be joined by a panel of eminent scientists and thinkers who've been working on bringing desperately needed clean water to developing nations around the globe, and their climb will be chronicled in a 90-minute documentary slated to air March 14 at 9 p.m. on MTV. Update to date information of their trek including individual locations, vitals, videos, etc, can be found: SummitOnTheSummit.comSource | |

| Whoever thought of this pairing deserves a medal or some shit. Just imagine it. Your mind just went "aww", didn't it? As it should. And it's even a romance-historical flick. But we probably won't get to see the movie until next year... great. Unrelated: Old-ish rumor. There's a rumor that there's going to be a HERO 2 next season (with Kimura Takuya and Yoshitaka Yuriko). I honestly don't know what to think of that. /late flails eta. omg, sweet potatoes. om nom nom. | |

| Ok, I was watching the Simpsons episode where Lisa and Bart are on a Kids News show and it got me to remembering an actual kids news show from my childhood.
It's very possible that this show was a pacific northwest or washington local show. I remember that the intro showed kids doing all the production work on the news show and a vaguely remember there being an animated creature (blue perhaps?) that was around from time to time. I'm not sure if they ever actually did any news reporting but that was the general concept.
Anyone know?
(also, it's not Nick News but while googling I discovered that Nick News is still on and was astonished)

| Don’t bring Beyonce to Trinidad and Tobago now. That’s the cry of fete and Carnival show promoters as well as panmen and calypsonians who are also calling on TSTT CEO, Roberto Peon, to explain what is the company’s intention towards Carnival 2010 and beyond in light of the concert featuring the American R&B singer immediately after Carnival on Thursday, February 18. The concerned parties are delivering a petition to Peon requesting a meeting with him signed by among others, promoter Frank Martineau, mas bandleaders Big Mike Antoine and Ronnie MacIntosh, Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organisation general secretary Lutalo ’Brother Resistance’ Masimba and former CEO of the Caribbean Prestige Foundation, Gregory Fernandes, who is spearheading the move to secure the sitdown. ’We want to discuss with TSTT the position they have taken to present Beyonce in concert so soon after Carnival and their decision to cut back and even pull sponsorship of Carnival events. We understand they have also cancelled the B-Square concert series at Woodford Square for this year. TSTT has contributed greatly to Carnival over the years and this is a surprise move. We want to know what their commitment to Carnival is,’ Fernandes said. ( say baby i love you ) | |

| The members of Gloriana have noticed an immediate impact from winning the Breakthrough Artist of the Year trophy at the most recent American Music Awards. "You don't realizing how many people are watching those TV shows; you win an award and you start going places," the group's Mike Gossin tells Billboard.com. "It's funny now; going to airports, people recognize us a lot more -- everywhere we go, really. They're like, 'Oh, I saw you win that award.' It was one of the highlights for this band so far. Cross our fingers, hopefully we'll win a lot more." Gloriana -- Gossin, his older brother Tom, Rachel Reinert and Cheyenne Kimball -- was already off to a good start even before the AMAs. Its self-titled debut album, released in August, reached No. 2 on the Hot Country Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200, while the single "Wild at Heart" was a Top 15 hit. The group's second single, "How Far Do You Wanna Go?," is currently climbing the charts. ( rest of the article, blahblah )Source & Sourcethey'll be performing on ellen next wednesday, 1/13. | |

| Former Playboy pin-up Cindy Margolis knows a thing or two about infertility, having given birth to her three children through IVF and later authoring the book “Having a Baby… When the Old-Fashioned Way Isn’t Working.” Now she's bringing the idea to television with her new dating reality show, “Seducing Cindy,” to debut on the FOX Reality Channel on January 30. “I am the spokesperson for Resolve, the National Infertility Association, so we could get away with it. We had one competition where the guys had to go through what I went through and give a sperm sample,” Margolis told Tarts. “It was interesting to have 25 guys go off into a room and bring you back a sperm sample. Clinically, I know how to test sperm, and I tested each of the guy’s sperm on my show. It was the craziest thing.” The dating reality show has men aged 18-49 competing in a range of interesting competitions in the hope of scoring Margolis’s hand in love. And according to the upcoming reality starlet, the guys were happy to go through with the “sperm” game. ( Read more... )source | |

| I would really love to get my hair cut, SOON. I'm so sick of it and it's just blah. I can't really do anything with it. And I plan on dying it again anyways so why not cut it too. I haven't cut it in awhile. So help, please? The only thing I'm against is cutting it above my shoulders. Thank you :) And just so you get a better idea of my face shape.. Sorry if these pictures are too big... and btw my hair is pretty thin, any miracle way to get more volume? | |
|
| So I finially got my haircut yay!! My cameras broken so I can't post pictures yet but I will whenever I get some. I have another question however. I wanted to dye my hair some kind of red underneath. Maybe more like a burgandy? I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good dyes that I could go get from Sallys or some other place. I would love to dye my hair some other color but my hair's dark brown and I dont want to go through all that hassle.
thanks for your help!! | |
|
| I decided to make a time line, and ask a question. Mostly cause I always come here and think everyone's hair looks 10x better than mine. This is probably all out of order, cause I'm not a good picture organizer. Oops! So calling this a "time line" is only partially true. This is my conglomerate of pictures that were on my computer and that I got from facebook.
( Here goes! )
